The best part of our childhood apart from having no responsibilities, was having a favorite cartoon character. We all had that one kid show we watched religiously, because of them. Be it Goku, or Mr. Bean, or Oggy. Well, here are some fan theories about some our favorite shows that will surely make your day much more interesting.
10. Pokemon
According to Creepypasta, “There’s an accident where a lightning strikes Ash’s bike, and puts him into a coma. Days later, he was found and hurried to the hospital and treated with heavy medications.”He has dreams in his coma, which then allows him to live his Pokemon Master fantasies. The anime series is actually Ash’s mind trying to escape reality and fulfill his desires, and the characters are personification of some of his life’s aspect. Should Ash realize he’s in coma, he’d suffer from brain damage, so he has to fight his mental barriers one by one, and wake up intact. Creepy indeed!
9. Mr. Bean
Mr. Bean was apparently abducted by Aliens. Yeah. You heard it right . According to one of the fan theories on Reddit, “ Mr. Bean is a stupid, foolish, socially unaware clod, yet somehow, he has a drivers license, an apartment, a girlfriend, and much more. But how did he manage this?
It’s the first thing you see. A dark street in London lights up, and Mr. Bean falls from the sky, looks around, and then walks off. Of course, we’ve all heard/made the connection. Aliens. Bean was an average, everyday man, but then he was abducted and probably brainwashed by aliens. This was how he ended up sitting a test, or had a dentist appointment, or the aforementioned license, apartment, and girlfriend. When he returned, he remembered his normal life, and possibly believes he’s still living like normal. “ Huh!
8. Shinchan
There’s a rumor revolving this beloved anime series. It is said that Shinchan was hit by a car trying to save his sister, Himmawari, and they both eventually die. The light-hearted adventures of this kid that we see, are actually the creations of his grieving Mom, Mitzy. She envisions what her dead son’s life might’ve had been had he lived, and draws them with his crayons, hence the title ‘Crayon’ Shinchan. Now that’s depressing!
7. Dexter’s Laboratory
One theory says that DeeDee might be Dexter’s future daughter.” Dexter has a daughter but also creates an invention which threatens the world. Dee Dee is sent back in time to prevent this from happening by pretending to be his sister and destroying his inventions that could set up her future. She can get into Dexter’s lab no matter what protections he puts on it because, to her, they’ve always been there; she knows how to bypass them.”
Another theorist from Reddit says that DeeDee played with one of Dexter’s experiments, and killed the whole family. Dexter survived, but blamed himself for their deaths and did his best to resurrect them through science. “The entire family gets roasted and blown up. They then changed into monsters but are unharmed next episode. Dexter made his family impervious to damage to prevent the same accident happening to him again ” observes the theorist.
6. Garfield
The theory says that Garfield is actually trapped in an abandoned house and dying of starvation. Since extreme hunger can cause hallucinations, he envisions Jon and Odie. He eventually starves to death in the empty house, alone.
5. Doraemon
Doraemon is a story with no ending. But there were three endings that were popular. The first one was that Nobita was suffering from a autism, and all the characters(including Doraemon) was just a figment of his imagination. In reality, he was on his sickbed imagining the entire series to ease his pain and depression.
The second one was an optimistic one, and was made public by Nobuo Sato as a fan-fiction. Nobita comes home one day to find that Doraemon’s battery has lost all its power. He had two choices- to replace Doraemon’s battery (which could reset his memory) with the help of Doraemi , or wait for a competent technician to fix him one day. Nobita grows up, studies hard, and becomes a scientist and ultimately fixes his cat friend.
The third one says that Nobita fell and hit a rock, falling into a deep coma. Doraemon sells every gadget he has, except one, to raise money for his operation. But, the operation failed, The last gadget was used to take Nobita wherever he wanted. In the end, the place Nobita wanted to go to was Heaven
4. Peanuts
A fan theory suggests that Charlie Brown’s baldness and down-and-out state has more to do with him having cancer than low self-esteem or bad luck. He is dreaming up his experiences from his sickbed. In the comic strip, nothing ever works out for him, and his life is a disaster. He is channeling his sadness into those dreams. That sure didn’t mess up my childhood!
3. Power puff girls
This theory isn’t ‘ everything nice’. According to this theory, “the Girls are actually just normal children who pretend to be superheroes. The Girls’ father isn’t a Scientist, but an ordinary pharmacist who makes medicine in his basement for a company. This is the reason as to why the Girls are never allowed into the basement.”
Mojo Jojo, the series’ villain,is actually the Girls’ half-brother. He was sexually interested in his younger siblings. He attempted to capture them in any way he saw fit. This is the supposed reason as to why he is the most feared figure in the main series. Eww.
2. Scooby Doo
This theory from Cracked says that Scooby Doo was set in a place where economy took a nosedive. The deserted mansions, abandoned castles to empty amusement parks, all indicate that the place is going through a major economic crisis. And because of that most of the ‘villains’ in the show are usually lawyers, or guys with PhDs, or any other person who would’ve had a respectable life in a normal universe. Whoa.
1. Tom & Jerry
This beloved animated series is said to be a Nazi propaganda. “As well as being the most Oscar-winning duo in history, Tom and Jerry were also more-or-less the opposing sides in World War II: Tommies, the British soldiers, and Jerries, the Germans… I think it’s safe to assume, especially in the context of a series which began right around the time of the Battle of Britain, that the choice of these names was no accident, especially since it precedes the American entry into World War II.
They are also markedly different to the meaningless names selected for other MGM cartoon characters around that time e.g. Sniffles, Droopy, etc… Perhaps the most disturbing thing about this theory is that Jerry is the good guy, the peace-loving victim of Tom’s evil schemes, but who usually wins due to his superior intelligence. Read in a wartime context, the suggestion that violence isn’t a solution goes beyond the subversive and borders on outright sedition. An alternative explanation that Jerry = GI is no more loyal, since it suggests the two Allied sides were fighting each other.” writes an author on trashcity.org
